Project overview
Bylor at HPC aims to lift the Dome to its Unit 2 in July 2025, three months ahead of the current schedule. This acceleration is expected to bring forward several critical milestones, including the introduction of heavy components, significantly improving the overall project timeline. 1. Significant Reduction in Construction Cycle: The Nuclear Island Stair Core on Unit 2 employs an innovative mega-lift method with bespoke lifting beam that drastically reduces the construction cycle from 56 days to just 17 days. This is achieved by lifting prefabricated reinforcement cages in a single operation, which significantly speeds up the construction process. This reduction in time not only accelerates the elemental completion but also minimizes the disruption to surrounding activities, allowing other construction phases to proceed more smoothly and efficiently. 2. High Accuracy and Quality Control: The project demonstrates exceptional precision with 100% accuracy and no hard clashes. This high level of accuracy ensures that the construction is of top quality, reducing the need for rework. The use of advanced 3D scanning technology to verify the position of bars pre- and post-lift further underscores the commitment to maintaining stringent quality control standards. 3. Resource and Cost Efficiency: The mega-lift method requires 20% fewer operatives compared to traditional platform work. This optimization not only reduces labour requirement but also improves safety. Additionally, the method's efficiency in space utilization and reduced construction cycle contribute to significant cost savings. These facts highlight the innovative approach, making it a standout in the construction industry.
